EARTHDAY JAM FOUNDATION PRESENTS “TARA NA FREEDOM ISLAND! ON OCT 11”
Earthday Jam Foundation, Inc. (producers of the widely popular and 15 year strong concert “Earthday Jam”) in cooperation with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-NCR) will stage “TARA NA SA FREEDOM ISLANDS! TARA NA SA LPPCHEA , a Coastal Clean Up & Tree Planting Activity Cum Sunset Jam at the Freedom Islands in Paranaque Coastal area on October 11 (Sat.) starting 1pm.
TARA NA SA FREEDOM ISLAND is the Foundation’s second time to put up a coastal clean up activity. In 2012, their venue was the historical Corregidor . This year , the Foundation has chosen a truly marvelous site to hold their next project in the form of LPPCHEA (Las Pinas Paranaque Critical Habitat Eco Tourism Area) as it belongs in the “RAMSAR” list of Wetlands of International Importance, having provided sanctuary to numerous species of birds and wildlife, some of which are already endangered.
The event shall span from 1pm to 7pm and will include a short “Green Seminar”, short Island tour, organic food eating with the main activities: Tree Planting and Coastal Clean Up taking place simultaneously and assigned will be assigned to specific areas within the Island . A special treat will be the “Sunset Music Jam” which is the Birthday Offering of artist-producer and environmental advocate Lou Bonnevie performing acoustic renditions of “green” songs with special friends from True Faith, Alamid and PureSound.
This event is the Foundation’s continuing campaign to create greater consciousness and concern for the coastal areas and waterways. It aims to actively involve the ordinary Filipino in environmental conservation efforts in the country. Partnering companies include Granne Creatives, HOLCIM Philippines, Bright Maritime Corporation, AyalaLand, Inc., Exabuilt Constructions, Divina Law, WDS, Model Shop with Cravings as Official Food Provider. It is staged with support from Villar Sipag Foundation and will be attended by volunteers from SaveThe Freedom Island Movement, St.Benilde, Paranaque High School and Infant Jesus Montessori, Kapatiran Sa Kalikasan ,Wild Bird of the Phils., Bureau of Fire Protection and other NGO representatives and community of Paranaque & Las Pinas.
TARA NA SA FREEDOM ISLAND ! is open to groups, family and volunteers with a minimal cost for the Complete Participants Package that will include Bus Transpo (assembly place in Boom Na Boom at the World Trade Center) seedlings (AgohoTree); Clean Up materials ,Log Sheets and Certification .
