Ice Age 4
Teeming with boundless energy, catastrophic creativity and defying continental odds, Sid the sloth (John Leguizamo) is back with his best friends Manny the mammoth (Ray Romano) and Diego the tiger (Denis Leary) along with Scrat in the latest adventure for all in “Ice Age 4: Continental Drift.”
While the earth is being subdivided into seven continents due to Scrat’s misadventures, Sid’s long-lost family suddenly appears. Sid is excited when his relatives arrive, seemingly happy to be reunited with him. But they leave just as quickly as they came, intentionally ditching his crotchety Granny (Wanda Sykes). Granny is inadvertently swept out to sea with the trio, making Sid’s job surviving the adventure that much harder when he must take care of her every need along the way.
Ice Age 4
“Sid’s a lovable guy and always wants to do things his way, which often leads to catastrophe,” says John Leguizamo, who once again brings his unique vocalizations and performance to the character. This time the catastrophe – his Granny – has come to him. “Sid has long wanted to be reunited with his family because everyone seems to have a family but him,” adds Leguizamo. “And all of a sudden, here they are. They’re with him, and then they’re not -- leaving him with Granny.”
Ice Age 4      Ice Age 4
Granny is a surprise castaway when Manny, Diego and Sid are swept out to sea on an iceberg following Scrat’s continental crack-up. Moreover, Manny, Sid, Diego and the members of their burgeoning group are changing. “They’re all evolving, and we’re along with them for the ride, physically and emotionally,” says producer/writer Lori Forte. “But however much they change, they’re still the characters we know and love.”
Indeed, the “Ice Age” extended family is far from conventional, and it’s certainly a distant relative of perfection, but the fact that it is a family is nothing less than ideal. “The message of the importance of family is integral to the ‘Ice Age’ movies,” says director Steve Martino. “Audiences around the world enjoy stories about families that work well together. Even though our characters are imperfect, and very different from one another, they always work things out and they’re the better for it.”
In the meantime, dance the Sid Shuffle

Jamba Juice Now Blending in SM Mall of Asia

A Flavorful Expansion for a Fruitful Cause

Jamba Juice Now Blending in SM Mall of Asia

As more and more Filipinos embrace healthy ways of living, the iconic California lifestyle brand—Jamba Juice®—is expanding their presence in the Philippines to bring the delectable delight of perfectly ripened and sun-sweetened premium fruits blended to perfection to the palates of their customers.

Having brought their delicious smoothie goodness to Bonifacio High Street (BHS) and Alabang Town Center, Jamba Juice in the Philippines—who is committed to bringing delectable smoothies, fresh-squeezed juices, and better-for-you snacks to locations where their fans want them most -- is expanding to the SM Mall of Asia—the country’s largest integrated leisure which houses various flagship stores, an IMAX theatre, and numerous dining and shopping destinations that answer the needs of today’s dynamic urbanites.

“Choosing strategic locations, that are convenient to our consumers, has always been one of the integral facets that we consider, when choosing the best locations for expansion,” says Sharon T. Fuentebella, Managing Director of Jamba Juice’s Master Franchisee in the Philippines.

Store growth aside, another interesting story lies in why Jamba Juice in the Philippines is so ardent about reaching more and more fans—their Gimme’ Me Five Campaign.

Gimme’ Five for a Mango Seedling

Through the Gimme’ Me Five campaign, customers who ride Jamba’s in-store Blender Bike for five minutes, get to donate one mango seedling which will be planted in the Guimaras Mango Park. The mango campaign was first introduced in conjunction with the opening of their flagship store in BHS-Central and was made possible through a partnership with the Bureau of Plant Industry–Guimaras National Mango Research and Development Center (BPI-GNMRDC). During his recent visit, Jamba Juice President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. James D. White, embraced the campaign as a meaningful way to raise awareness of local sustainability initiatives.

“Our hope is that locally grown Guimaras Mangoes will one day play a larger role in Jamba’s smoothie menu,” says Mark Gamboa, Marketing Director of Jamba Juice in the Philippines. “In the meantime, promoting the planting of trees with a ride on the Blender Bike is our fun way of engaging our customers in this campaign to support the local mango industry.”

Fuentebella adds that the local team is excited about raising awareness of the Guimaras Mango, as it also highlights Guimaras as a tourist destination where the best mangoes are grown.

“The Philippines is already known for growing some of the best tropical fruits the world has ever tasted, and Jamba Juice uses the highest quality of fruits from different countries, including bananas sourced from the Philippines,” adds Fuentebella. “We are hoping to extend this commitment to quality and freshness by promoting and using our very own Guimaras mangoes in the blending of our delectable smoothies.”

Ice Age 4
Young music superstars Drake and Nicki Minaj debut as prehistoric elephants in “Ice Age 4: Continental Drift” where their characters are engulfed in the wake of global cataclysmic changes brought about by Scrat. Scrat’s obsessively hilarious nutty pursuit of the cursed acorn brings waves of changes that trigger seas of adventure for Manny the mammoth (voiced by Ray Romano), Diego the tiger (Denis Leary) and Sid the sloth (John Leguizamo).
Along with their latest adventure are Manny’s beloved wife Ellie (Queen Latifah) and their now teenage daughter Peaches (Keke Palmer of Disney’s comedy teen series “True Jackson VP”). Manny and the headstrong Peaches have been quarreling, a relatable issue to any parent or teen since Manny is the prototypical overprotective dad.
Peaches’ biggest conflict with her dad stems from the increasing amount of time she’s spending with her teenage friends, especially Ethan, the famous Big Mammoth on Campus, voiced by hip hop sensation Drake. Meanwhile, Peaches’ romantic rival for Ethan’s affection is Steffie, one of the mammoth girls is voiced by rapper Nicki Minaj. Glee’s most followed cheerleader Heather Morris portrays another teen mammoth named Katie.
Ice Age 4
For Drake, working on ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT was akin to joining a new family, and, as he puts it, “being on a big emotional roller coaster ride. I am thrilled to be part of it.”
Minaj, one of today’s brightest musical talents, notes that Steffie will do anything to hold on to her mammoth. “When she finds out that Peaches is after Ethan, she does what any stand-up woman would do – be really jealous and nasty,” says Minaj. Heather Morris’ Katie, another cool, Ice Age teen, has a distinctive look. “She is blond-haired and wears flowers in her hair,” says the “Glee” star. “And she gets to hang out with Steffie/Nicki Minaj!”
Ice Age 4
Outside of this in-crowd of teenage mammoth is Peaches’ closest friend named Louis, a prehistoric mole/meerkat voiced by Josh Gad (who stars in the smash Broadway hit “Book of Mormon”). Louis is a loyal pal to Peaches – he wishes it were more that friendship – but as Gad notes, “In the hierarchy of this high school-like environment, Louis would be the one everyone bullies. But Louis’ inner courage could change everything.”
Manny’s better half, Ellie, is an oasis of stability amid Manny’s frantic parenting. “Ellie and Manny balance each other,” says Queen Latifah, who returns as Ellie. “Manny is overprotective; Ellie is a little more relaxed and nurturing because she understands what Peaches is going through, especially with her crush on boys. As a teenager, everything seems like it’s the end of the world, and I don’t think that’s ever going to change.”
Despite her mom’s best efforts, Peaches, voiced by actress-singer Keke Palmer, rebels against Manny’s strict rules. “Peaches is going through some pretty mammoth stuff,” puns Palmer. “She’s ready to get out there and experience new things .” According to producer John C. Donkin, “Keke has her own attitude, along with some of the sass of Queen Latifah, and the warmth you find with Ray Romano.”
“‘Ice Age’ has always been about family,” says Lori Forte, who has produced the entire series and co-wrote the story. “No matter what the plot is of a given ‘Ice Age’ film, it still comes down to family – and about how Manny, Diego, Sid and the now-extended clan have each other’s backs. That kind of storytelling and humor appeals to everyone, everywhere.”
“ICE AGE 4: CONTINENTAL DRIFT” sails July 4 in theaters nationwide from 20thCentury Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Shot in Istanbul, Turkey and directed by Olivier Megaton , “Taken 2” reunites Liam Neeson with his co-stars Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace in this rocket-paced action sequel that rivals some of the greatest gun-handlers in cinema history.

Neeson reprises the role of Bryan Mills, a father and an estranged husband who would do anything for his family in the movie. Mills’ daughter having been kidnapped the first time. But he faces a different kind of conflict in “Taken 2.” Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a particular set of skills who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. When the father of one of the kidnappers swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape, and uses the same advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and then systematically take out the kidnappers one by one.

liam neeson in TAKEN2

“In the first movie he's really a guy with nothing to lose. He's divorced, he's lost his daughter, and you see his reaction when she's kidnapped,” explains Megaton. “In this movie, he's got that relationship back and he's even flirting with his ex-wife. It's almost cheesy, but that makes him all the more human at the beginning of the movie, because he's not thinking about his training, he's thinking about his family.”

But being kidnapped once is unfortunate; twice is just careless. Rest assured, then, that things play out differently in this sequel. “The powers-that-be–namely our gracious leader Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen—have come up with a much better plot than that,” assures Grace. “Someone has the notion of attempting to abduct Bryan. It's a personal vendetta; someone bent on extracting recompense from a man with a particular set of skills, as ill-advised as that might be. So it's not a random second abduction of my character, Kim, which I think would be everyone's first concern.”

“Taken 2” opens October in theaters from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Texas-born supermodel, designer, entrepreneur and actress, Erin Wasson plays the ruthless, sexy and evil vampire Vadoma in “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” directed by renowned Russian filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov.

The thrilling film delivers an entirely original twist to the story of the iconic American president. Vampires are re-imagined as evil bloodthirsty slave traders and Lincoln (played by Ben Walker) is portrayed as a master at killing the supernatural creatures. In this fantastical action-packed movie, the iconic leader Abraham Lincoln has a secret life alongside his presidential duties: hunting the undead. Rooted in historical fact that is blended skillfully with a fictional supernatural tale, Lincoln is portrayed as a man who was essentially the first superhero.

Ben Walker gives a powerful performance as President Lincoln. The film also stars Dominic Cooper as Henry, a high living ladies’ man who saves his life and instructs him on the art of vampire hunting. Rufus Sewell portrays Lincoln’s vampire nemesis Adam, commander of the vampire army. Erin Wasson plays the gorgeous vampire, Vadoma, Adam’s chief lieutenant and bodyguard. The film is based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s bestselling novel.

Wasson sinks her teeth into a deliciously meaty and malevolent role – following is her q&a on her thoughts on beauty, fashion, martial arts and vampires.

Q: What kind of vampire is Vadoma?

A: “She is a woman of few words, a woman of action who is on a mission, she is very straightforward. She’s a really strong, powerful woman who is very talented and good at what she does. She’s a skilled assassin.”

Q: Can you explain what these assassins are doing at this point in US history?

A: “The slaves are our food; we’re trading slaves to keep us (the vampires) alive. The vampires are living off the blood of the slaves.”

Q: What kind of costume do you wear?

A: “The interesting thing about Vadoma’s costume is that the color palette consists of shades of red, crimson and deep purples. She always wears a hat and sunglasses during the day. She is a woman on the move. She spends her day on horseback so the costumes have to be practical. She definitely has a dark side.”

Q: How interesting was it playing someone who’s really evil?

A: “It was great. Vadoma is pure evil so there’s not a lot of consciousness going into her actions and not a lot of emotion.”

Q: Why do you think vampires continue to be so popular?

A: “They are part modern day folklore and it is the mystery of vampires that I think intrigues people. People connect vampires to sexuality, with the element of the blood. There is a correlation between vampires and human urges or desires.”

Q: How would you say that your own natural beauty, your looks, have contributed to your extraordinary success?

A: “I certainly think that [my looks] have contributed to my career. You know, that is how I fell into the industry and that was partly how I got to experience so much. That has enabled me to be where I am now. I’m grateful for the beauty, but I’ve been able to see through that. I’m more beautiful inside than outside (laughs).”

Q: What was your childhood like in Texas?

A: “I come from a really strong Texas family. I grew up playing in the streets of my neighborhood, predominantly with boys. We would be out all day long until the street lights came on. My mother (Chris Wasson) is incredible; she’s a strong woman, enabling you to be able to walk through the challenges of life and keep your head above water, so I give a lot of credit to my folks.”

Q: It sounds like your Mother was a great role model?

A: “Absolutely. My mom was a flight attendant for 30 years. When I started out as a model at 15 she came to every shoot with me, in between her flying schedule. She is the kind of mother who would have lunches packed and waiting for me and my sister Meghan, even when she’d just got off a ‘redeye’ (all night) flight. She would drop us off at school and then come home and do house chores. I don’t know when she slept. And then she did it all over again the next day.”

Q: You are considered a style icon. Is that rewarding?

A: “I don’t even know what it means to be a style icon. It is interesting you know, because when people tell me that’s what I am, it doesn’t really make any sense. But I’m super appreciative that people see me in that way. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for that.”

Q: What has been the defining moment in your career so far?

A: “Getting a cosmetic deal because in this kind of business, that gives you an incredible security blanket. You never know when things are going to come and go with the ebb and the flow, so getting a cosmetic contract (with Maybelline) allowed me to breathe a little bit easier. When I was a young girl, I grew up looking at their make up and I still don’t understand why I’m here, I am very grateful.”

“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” arrives July 4 in theaters (2D and 3D) from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

Athletes in Action in cooperation with Fila (School Run for School Rooms)

Athletes in Action in cooperation with Fila (School Run for School Rooms)

Iligan City was among the places in Northeastern Mindanao that were worst-hit by typhoon Sendong. The typhoon, which ravaged the region with its heavy rainfall from December 15 to 18, left a total of PhP 1,033,131,515,100. 00 worth of damages in infrastructures, agricultural crops, and school buildings. Six months after the disaster, the situation in Iligan City remains bleak. Many people are still living in so-called tent cities and living off relief goods. As the school year starts, the children would have to make do with makeshift classrooms, as 12 schools and 136 classrooms in Iligan City were among Sendong's casualties.

Athletes in Action (AIA) believes in making positive changes in people’s lives through sports. That is why the international humanitarian organization of athletes is organizing an advocacy run on July, which proceeds will fund the rebuilding of the classrooms in Iligan City.

Titled "Schools Run for School Rooms" (SRSR), the advocacy run will gather student-runners from major colleges and universities in Metro Manila to compete in distances of 3K, 5K, and 10K on the urban environment of the Bonifacio Global City early morning of July 7th. Besides college students, groups from government agencies, churches, and private corporations have also expressed their interest in joining the SRSR.

ICE AGE 4 with Simpsons short feature
At Iba Pang Pangyayari · Post

“Ice Age 4: Continental Drift” comes out in cinemas with a Simpsons short attached to the film when it opens on July 4  in cinemas nationwide.
Ice Age’s latest chapter in one of the most successful film franchises of all time brings together the visually epic and the emotionally powerful; the humorous and the heartfelt – plus the world’s most beloved prehistoric squirrel and the ultimate unconventional herd of this or any Age.
Interwoven with these epic tales of family exploits are the continuing adventures of Scrat, whose sole purpose in life – whose very existence – revolves around an acorn as elusive as it is cherished. Scrat’s quest for the nut has had consequences; in the first “Ice Age” Scrat’s obsession triggered the Ice Age itself. In ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT, Scrat and the object of his pursuits are nothing less than the catalyst for a cataclysm. Forget what you’ve learned in geology about the continents forming as a result of massive tectonic turbulence and volcanic eruptions tearing land masses apart. ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT reveals that these seismic shifts came about from Scrat’s misadventures.
The film reunites us with Scrat as he’s going about his usual business: he has grabbed the acorn, set it down on the ground – and suddenly a mountain is torn apart and the earth itself opens up, separating land masses into the seven continents. Scrat hurtles toward the earth’s core, triggering massive earthquakes, which in turn isolates Manny, Diego and Sid from the rest of the herd.
This continental size of adventure from the Ice Age pack and a short animated feature focused on Maggie Simpson come July 4 in cinemas will surely bring in loads of fun to families and all.
“Ice Age 4: Continental Drift” is from 20th Century Fox to be available in 2D and 3D format to be distributed by Warner Bros. in Philippine cinemas.

The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf® opens a new store in Adriatico

A coffee shop serving masterfully crafted beverages and a dynamic, artsy neighborhood come together in an inspired pairing.

Celebrated as the capital’s bohemian quarter, Adriatico’s locale is the latest community to be immersed in the whole The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® experience. “With our finest custom-roasted Arabica coffee and hand-plucked whole leaf teas, Adriatico’s old-world air comes alive with the addition of the modern-day gourmet delights that The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® brings,” shares Walden Chu, President of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® Philippines.

To formally launch its Adriatico store, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® hosted an art-themed gathering on June 1, 2012 in it’s two-storey coffee shop that also features a cozy complementing glasshouse. As a tribute to the area’s famed artist hub, Penguin Café Gallery, the store’s launch presented simultaneous art exhibits and intimate discussions with art installation mavericks Cesare and Jean Syjuco and digital illustration prodigy Dan Matutina.

For one extra special night, the premier café chain’s newest location housed diverse artwork collections of the said artists for guests to appreciate, while the artists talked about the inspirations behind each masterpiece and the subtleties that influenced their work.

Afterwards, guests were served with spiked specialty coffee and tea offerings while mingling in an entertaining ambiance enhanced with techno grooves and house tracks mixed by DJ Joey Santos.

“As a premium brand that considers crafting internationally acclaimed gourmet drinks and treats a priceless art form, we here at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® invite the community’s artistically inclined populace to feel right at home in our Adriatico store,” says Chu.

One of the biggest privately held coffee chains in the country, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® Philippines has been serving Filipinos with their full selection of signature premium drinks since 2003. To know more about the brand, you may log on to

Filipino Bloggers Hub Acquaintance Party

Filipino Bloggers Hub Acquaintance Party  was one of the coolest gathering of Bloggers I have ever encountered and seen since the moment I started in joining and doing some blogging just a year ago.

Bloggers of different niche come along and give support to the group to somehow show  some  force  and  stigma of trying and becoming one day one of the influential blogger of the time.

Senior and so called leaders according to their niche came and shared their insights and experiences giving their best to help new and part time bloggers to  make Bloggers one of the most respectful media group in the nearest possible time especially here in our country.
