In recent interviews, Neeson shared that in the movie, “I have to go on the run, I’ll put it that way, from the not-so-lawful types and the lawful authorities. Bryan Mills served his country faithfully, but now even they are after him. They must not like me. This time, no more travelling, if my daughter was taken again on a trip, Bryan would have to be certifiably locked up for bad parenting.”

Filmed at Pinewood Studios in London and on location in Almeria, Spain and Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, Exodus: Gods & Kings is the reimagining of one of the greatest stories ever told by one of the best filmmakers working today.

Filmed in 3D, Scott’s film will tell the story of Moses, abandoned by a desperate mother as a baby after the Egyptian rulers orders the murder of all boys born to slaves. The boy is found in the bulrushes by the Pharaoh’s daughter and raised in the royal household, where he grows up alongside Ramses, the future monarch. As a man, Moses has a vision and turns his back on his privileged life and leads his people, the Israelites, from enslavement. Scott’s film will feature ground-breaking special effects, including the plagues visited upon Egypt and the parting of the Red Sea.

Working with Scott to realize the grandeur of the movie's action sets and pieces is Arthur Max, who is also featured in this special video. Max is a double Academy®-Award nominee – for “Gladiator” (2000) and “American Gangster” (2007). He was awarded a BAFTA for Best Production Design for “Gladiator” in 2000. As production designer his other credits include “G.I. FAKING IT IN “LET’S BE COPS” TRAILER AND POSTER RELEASE

 

LetsBeCops_1Sht_CampA“Let’s Be Cops” is the ultimate buddy cop movie except for one thing: they're not cops. When two struggling pals dress as police officers for a costume party, they become neighborhood sensations. But when these newly minted “heroes” get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives, they must put their fake badges on the line.

Faking it real time, these fake cops have just found some real trouble. Starring Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson, The idea for the movie was born when director/co-writer Luke Greenfield decided to spend Halloween in a police officer’s uniform – a choice that had unexpected consequences.

“My costume designer at the time got me a real LAPD uniform and my buddy and I walked around Los Angeles,” Greenfield remembers. “The sense of power and authority was incredible. I was single at the time, and it became quite easy to talk to women on the street.”

With co-writer and executive producer Nicholas Thomas, Greenfield developed the pitch that was to become LET’S BE COPS. “We came up with the idea quite quickly,” says Thomas. “We pitched the project to 20th Century Fox, and it sold.”

“The two lead characters have no money and their self-worth is gone,” says Greenfield. “Then, all of a sudden, they are street heroes. Their fun masquerade escalates to the point where it starts getting dangerous and they mess with the wrong people.”

The two writers created the two principal characters somewhat in their own images. “Justin is me,” says Greenfield. “He’s passionate about what he creates in the videogame world, as I am about my motion picture projects. Only he’s afraid to be direct and authoritative. Ryan is sort of based on Nick Thomas. He is more outspoken and braver, and more likely to get us both into hot water.”

The first thing the filmmakers did after getting the production green light was cast the lead characters, Justin and Ryan. They chose two comic actors who were actually close pals.

“Damon and Jake are close friends, big fans of one another’s work and had been dying to do a film together,” Greenfield adds. “Casting them was incredible luck, because throughout production they were always off in a corner, laughing and joking just like their characters. The characters audiences will see on screen are very close to who Damon and Jake really are. It was fantastic.”

ZOE SALDANA’S EXTRAORDINARY FAIRY TALE IN “THE BOOK OF LIFE”

Our story begins in a museum, where we meet a mysterious tour guide named Mary Beth, who is taken on the seemingly thankless task of guiding a group of rowdy kids who would rather be anywhere else, on a tour. But Mary Beth has something special in store for them, and escorts them into a secret room, where the magic of “The Book of Life” begins to unfold. “This particular area of the museum looks like Latin America basically exploded into it, turning it into a place filled with life and color,” says Gutierrez.

THE BOOK OF LIFE

Christina Applegate voices Mary Beth and introduces us to the principal characters and their hometown of San Angel. We meet Manolo (voiced by Diego Luna), who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart. Before choosing which path to follow, Manolo embarks upon an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds, where he must face his greatest fears. The object of Manolo’s affections, Maria, voiced by Zoë Saldana, is an independent, strong-willed and fun-loving young woman who is wooed by her best friends Manolo and Joaquin (Channing Tatum), from their time as children to a reunion years later as adults.

She’s certainly not your average “princess,” and is equal –or superior – to her suitors in any number of ways.

Maria is close to both boys, but perhaps the wistful Manolo is her true soul mate. “Even when they were kids, Maria had a soft spot for Manolo,” says Saldana. “She understands and feels a connection to his sensitive nature. I guess deep down, Maria is an artist and a philosopher.”

And, maybe, she’s a songstress, too? At the very least, Saldana loved the idea of singing in the film, especially when she learned that Luna would be singing as Manolo. “At first, I wasn’t sure Jorge would take my request to sing very seriously. And then, they told me, ‘Well, there’s this beautiful song, ‘No Matter Where You Are,’ and we want you to be a part of it.’ And I had a really great time with the song.”

Manolo, Maria and Joaquin – three best friends – have been close since childhood. Their bond was interrupted when Maria, who was a bit too rebellious for her father’s taste, was sent to Europe to become a proper lady. Joaquin joined the military academy and became a legendary bandit-fighter. But Manolo didn’t go anywhere – he stayed in San Angel and practiced to become a bullfighter, as his father did before him, and his father before him.

“But even after this long absence, Maria discovers that Manolo and Joaquin haven’t changed a bit,” says Saldana. “They’re still fighting for Maria’s attention, but she’s her own woman, who is going to make that decision – and many others – on her own. She doesn’t consider herself a prize that’s going to be won by one of these great guys.”

Indeed, love has to wait; first Maria must make some tough decisions, sprint into action to defend her town from marauding bandits, and tend to her four-legged best friend, Chuy, a pig gifted to her by Manolo. A loyal and protective pet, Chuy weighs in at over 300 pounds, sounds like a goat and acts like a puppy.

The construction of LEED Inc.’s first project, Paseo Verde in Real, remains on track as construction goes full-swing to complete the first tower of the 1.1-hectare mid-rise condominium project.

The first tower is targeted to be completed by the end of 2015, with turnover of units happening as early as the fourth quarter of 2015. “The Maze Runner” landed top spot at the Phils. Box-Office with an outstanding P62.4 million on its first five days of release (opened Sept. 17) outrunning all other films that simultaneously opened that week. The movie clinched its place as the 3rd Biggest Opening Weekend for a Fox film this year (“X-Men: Days of Future Past” being the 1st) and is now the 4th Biggest Opening Weekend for a Fox film all-time (again succeeding “X-Men: Days of Future Past”) so far.

“The Maze Runner” has exceeded expectations and is also currently tracking higher than previously released YA (young adult) blockbusters such “The Hunger Games” and “Divergent.”

Rated PG by the local censors board, “The Maze Runner”opened in more than 170 screens nationwide and has thus far reached a wider demographics outside the books’ fan base. Within the Philippines, it’s Ayala Malls Cinemas’ Trinoma that ranked top with P2.47million of the movie’s opening weekend gross. Directed by Wes Ball from the bestselling book of the same title by James Dashner, “The Maze Runner’s” remarkable feat at the box-office was compounded with the film’s high-adrenaline tempo that lived up to the book’s spirit, making it a film worth-watching with groups of friends and families. LONDON’S WEST END STAGE PLAY “CORIOLANUS” PRESENTED IN HIGH-DEFINITION (HD) FORMAT

Prior the advent of motion pictures are stage plays based on writings of famous playwrights and poets. This year, Ayala Malls Cinemas includes in their screening programs world-class stage plays filmed in high-definition (HD) format from London’s National Theater Live and operatic performances from New York’s Metropolitan Opera, offering a whole new way to experience a more intimate form of art onscreen.

This September, the British Embassy launched its seven month-long campaign "This is GREAT Britain" that aims to show the very best of Britain's culture. The celebration commenced with the presentation of the National Theater Live’s stage play "Coriolanus" starring Tom Hiddleston. Filmed in HD, the play was screened last September 3 at Ayala Malls' Greenbelt 3 Cinemas with a program at Greenbelt 5 Fashion Walk preceding the screening. "Coriolanus" also ran for two days (September 5 and 6) at Greenbelt 3 cinemas that was made available for the moviegoing public.

In a recent statement from British Ambassador Asif Ahmad, he mentioned that "We are very fortunate to have Ayala Malls Cinemas as our partner for the screening of National Theater Live's Coriolanus, which will give Filipinos a glimpse of the world-class theater performances from London's West End."

Hiddleston, best known globally for his role as Loki in "Thor" series, plays the titular role in "Coriolanus" that was written by William Shakespeare. The story centers on a conflicted man named Coriolanus - hero and defender of Rome. When an old adversary threatens Rome, the city called on to Coriolanus to defend their country. Famine threats the city, the citizens' hunger swells into an appetite for change and on returning from the war, Coriolanus must confront the march of real politics and the voice of an angry mob threatening to throw him out of his hometown.

Succeeding the well-received and much raved about debut of "Coriolanus" in HD from London's West End staged plays, Ayala Malls Cinemas will soon release stage plays that are also filmed in HD from the Metropolitan Opera in New York. The lineup of plays filmed in HD will play every second Tuesday of the month starting this October 14 at 6:30pm featuring "Rigoletto" that will be followed by "Rusalka" on November 18 and "Otello" on December 16 for the year 2014 and will continue until the year 2015 with "La Bohème" on January 13, "Werther" on February 10 and "The Enchanted Island" on March 3.

“THE BOOK OF LIFE” FLIPS THROUGH THE PAGES OF FRIENDSHIP, TRUE LOVE AND STRONG FAMILY VALUES

Reel FX Animation and 20th Century Fox open the pages of “The Book of Life” and present a grand mythology set in visually spectacular worlds never seen before. The film brings together director Jorge R. Gutierrez’s unique visual style and a crowd-pleasing mix of adventure, action, comedy, romance and music with a voice cast as lively as their animated characters – Channing Tatum, Zoe Saldana, Christina Applegate, Diego Luna, Ice Cube, Ron Perlman and Hector Elizondo.

“The Book of Life,” a vibrant animated fantasy-adventure, tells the legend of Manolo (Luna), a conflicted hero and dreamer who sets off on an epic quest through magical, mythical and wondrous worlds in order to reunite with his one true love Maria (Saldana) and defend his village. But Manolo and his equally courageous best friend Joaquin (Tatum)are not your typical Prince Charmings; the object of their affections is far from being your average princess; and “The Book of Life” is a fairy tale that doesn’t go by the book.

Its journey to the big screen began with, appropriately enough, a friendship. Producer Brad Booker, a Reel FX development executive, had known Gutierrez (known for the multiple Emmy and Annie winning series “El Tigre, The Adventures of Manny Rivera” for Nickelodeon which he created with his wife) for over a decade, and after hearing of the project, Booker believed Reel FX would be a great home for it. The independent animation studio knew that the film needed the perfect creative partner to help guide its path and development. Gutierrez’s first choice: legendary director, producer and author Guillermo del Toro, who like Gutierrez hails from Mexico. Gutierrez felt del Toro’s authentic perspective and unique aesthetic sensibility were a perfect match for the film.

THE BOOK OF LIFE

Del Toro was equally impressed by Gutierrez’s passion for what would become “The Book of Life.” “Jorge is his movie,” he says, “and the movie is an imprint of his personality. Jorge’s ideas for “The Book of Life” started with his connection to his homeland of Mexico, and presenting an exciting, never-before-experienced depiction of that country, its people and its traditions – all in a way that would be accessible to audiences around the world.”

Adds producer Brad Booker: “Guillermo brings an authenticity and passion for this world and story. He’s a visionary filmmaker and has been tremendously supportive of Jorge’s ideas.” “The Book of Life” brings together Gutierrez’s perspective of his native country with a story to which everyone can relate. He explains: “This is a very personal movie. The inspiration comes from my family history and childhood experiences.”

Still, Gutierrez admits he embellished some elements. “My grandfather Luis used to tell me, ‘Jorgito, don’t ever let the truth get in the way of a good story!’ And that was the moment I fell in love with storytelling.” Gutierrez’s passion for the story, characters and their world points to the film’s broad appeal. “If you’re telling a story and want it be universal, then you have to be specific,” del Toro explains. “If the filmmaker loves the story and characters, then audiences will love it. And if a filmmaker feels it’s powerful, more people will love the story he or she is telling because it’s powerful. And that’s exactly what Jorge has done with “The Book of Life.”
