It all started in 1990 with a blender and a zest for healthy living in the small California beach town of San Luis Obispo. Kirk Perron, an avid cyclist and dynamic entrepreneur, created delicious beverages by blending healthful ingredients together that he drank to replenish his body after the long rides. Fruitful beginnings

Will you set your heart on a 16 oz. cup of banana-berry or do you want some steal cut oatmeal? What about a hot breakfast wrap or a slice of California Flatbread™?

Questions like these didn’t come to mind when one visited a Jamba Juice store four years ago. However, in 2008, Jamba Juice began expanding the menu to include healthy and great tasting delicacies that complement the brand’s famed smoothies.

Nonetheless, adding meal options is just a part of Jamba Juice’s strategy, which the company calls the BLEND plan. “The most effective plans are those that are well-thought out and meticulously executed without hesitation,” explains White. ”You build a brand by sticking unwaveringly to your plan and driving it consistently over time.”

Endeavors for Jamba Juice bore fruit as the brand grew to more than 750 restaurant locations of which more than half are franchised. Furthermore, the Company established partnerships with various schools and national organizations to further its vision of inspiring people and simplifying healthy living.

Brought in by one of the largest food chains in the Philippines, the Max’s Group of Companies, Jamba Juice made the country its first site in Southeast Asia and targeted the niche it successfully captured in California—the active living market.

“Having a food and beverage business portfolio has provided us a perspective in the eating habits of the Filipinos,” shares Sharon Fuentebella, Managing Director of Jamba Juice Philippines. “We’ve seen how people are becoming more inclined towards dynamic and active endeavors, and this shift has prompted them to seek products that would complement that lifestyle.”

Jamba Juice launched its pioneering flagship store in Bonifacio High Street Central last November. Situated in a tropical country with a growing, dynamic population, Jamba Juice Philippines posted an excellent performance that made Manila its biggest market in Asia. “We will do our best to keep it that way,” Fuentebella adds.

Hence, the journey goes on for the team. In line with the Max’s Group of Companies’ commitment of introducing more stores to make Jamba products more accessible, they are opening the first store in the south of the metro. The Alabang Town Center Branch, which is now recognized as the second store in South East Asia, will shortly be followed by a third store, which will be located in SM Mall of Asia.
