Marriott Hotel Manila has launched four new innovative thematic coffee breaks designed to pull event planners and clients away from formal business routines by offering a variety of informal settings to spark new ideas. From delegates preparing famous Filipino street food themselves, stimulating desserts in artistic packaging, and energizing cocktails served in takeaway bottles, the breaks are part of the Marriott Lifestyle Coffee Breaks aimed to suit delegates’ needs and stimulate creativity for brainstorming.
Each of the breaks can be set up within Marriott Manila’s versatile meeting spaces, from the pillar-less Manila ballroom and six multi-function rooms to the airy spaces of The Garden Rooms, The Den and The Hub. Themes include: California Fit with a healthy spread of varieties from granola bars to fruit cups, to fresh yogurt and veggie wraps for those who want to eat more, gain less, and reenergize; China Town with a myriad of Chinese delicacies from fresh dimsum and dumplings, to roast pork belly with egg noodles, as well as fresh fruit skewers available to whet your appetite; Deli Break with freshly tossed salads, filling sandwiches, and batches of warm chocolate crinkles; and Metro Pinoy with traditional rice cakes and local fruits like macopa and chico, to the well-known street foods such as fish balls and chicharon (fried pork rinds) that can immerse the guests into the Filipino way of eating. MANILA – 16 boys -- 9 from Metro Manila, 2 from Bacolod, 2 from Cavite, 1 from Rizal, 1 from Tarlac and 1 from Batangas -- emerged as the best of the Manila Regional Selection Camp of the Jr. NBA Philippines 2014 presented by Alaska held at the Philippine International Conventional Center (PICC) Forum Tent at the CCP Complex April 13. 10 girls – 6 from Metro Manila, 2 from Laguna, 1 from Cavite and 1 from Sorsogon -- will join the first-ever pool of Jr. WNBA aspirants who will compete in the inaugural Jr. WNBA tilt this year.
