Citi Philippines inaugurates new corporate headquarters

Citi Philippines recently celebrated the inauguration of Citi Plaza, the
bank’s new corporate headquarters located in Bonifacio Global City.
The opening of Citi Plaza was officiated by the Governor of Bangko
Sentral ng Pilipinas, Nestor Espenilla Jr.; US Ambassador to the Philippines
Sung Kim; Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano; Citi Asia Pacific CEO, Francisco
Aristeguieta; and Citi Country Officer for the Philippines, Aftab Ahmed.
“Citi Plaza underlines the importance of the Philippines to Citi. Since 1902 Citi Philippines has been serving
as the trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial
services that enable growth and economic progress. Today’s opening builds on
that legacy and affirms our confidence in the future economic development of
the Philippines and providing the best possible work environment for our
employees to serve our clients with distinction.” said Francisco.
Approximately 6,500 of the bank’s 7,700 employees will be based in the
24-storey office building which was designed according to our new Citi Works
standards. Citi Works is intended to
create work environments that leverage technology for flexibility,
collaboration and increased engagement amongst employees.
The new headquarters is also home to Citi Philippines’ Country Management
team and the Institutional Clients Group.
The bank’s Citi Service Center in Philippines which comprises of the
Regional Operating Headquarters and Citigroup Business Process Solutions are
also based in the building.
“The consolidation of groups from four sites across Manila into a single
building gives us the opportunity to create an efficient and flexible
workplace. Using Citi Works, employees have the flexibility to leverage a
variety of workstations and collaborative spaces and using digital
solutions. The new site provides for
increased connectivity throughout the premises.” said Aftab.
“Citi Plaza represents a major commitment that we have made in the
Philippines. We have built a strong local business here that has gone from
strength to strength over the years.
With the increasing demand of processing and service requirements being
handled by the Philippine Service Center across 90 countries, Citi Philippines
has become an important location for Citi in its global network.” Aftab added.
On the back of a shift towards sustainable, targeted and self-funded
investments to drive growth across markets in the region, including Manila,
Citi in Asia Pacific recently recorded its fifth consecutive quarter of growth.
The region, which is core to Citi’s growth, is the largest region for Citi
outside of North America.
