Reigning ONE Bantamweight World Champion Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon is one of the most ferocious forces of nature inside the ONE Championship cage. The way he operates at breakneck speed and with an undeniable tenacity, it’s unique and produces incredible highlight-reel performances. To be able to do the things he does however, takes a lot of hard work and dedication. More importantly, it takes the right amount of motivation. The 32-year-old Filipino firebrand says that every morning, he gets a big boost of self-confidence from the people closest to him. “I start the day with my family,” Belingon said. “I think that’s the best way to start any day. I want to spend as much time as I can with them before heading off to training. Breakfast in the mornings is something that I look forward to every day because it means I can be with my family early.” After fueling up at home in anticipation of a long day of training ahead, Belingon heads over to the Team

Center: Ballet Manila CEO and artistic director Lisa Macuja and Martin Lawrance with the Ballet Manila dancers at the successful 23 rd season finale, DEUX. Ballet Manila closed its 23 rd season in spectacular fashion as it recently premiered its newest double header Deux, which gracefully combined classical with contemporary ballet to the tunes of Chopin and The Beatles, at the Aliw Theater, CCP Complex. The show opened with classical vignettes featuring “Les Sylphides” where a lone danseur was seen being surrounded by his muses – white-clad sylphs or air spirits, dancing in the moonlight. While it is non-narrative, its lingering music by Frederic Chopin and lyrical choreography by Michael Fokine evoke the illusion of ethereal weightlessness which characterized the romantic era of ballet where technique is the focal point, especially the intricate pointe work of ballerinas. The first chapter of the show also showed other classical vignettes including Pas De Action and

Expert mentors help kids shine in Promil Four i-Shine Talent Camp 7

Image
All kids are born with a gift. While it is often up to parents to discover their child's unique gift or talent, making sure this gift is nurtured and honed requires the guidance of an experienced mentor. Mentors play a vital role in developing a kid’s talent – they have the ability to bring a kid out of her shell, expose her to new experiences and polish her talent until she is ready to shine. This is the reason why, for this year's Promil Four i-Shine Talent Camp, six of the country's best and most recognized mentors have been commissioned to guide and nurture kids’ gifts through meaningful and memorable talent camps across Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Batangas. This year, Promil Four i-Shine Talent Camp 7 is presenting Teachers Robert Alejandro and Kara Escay for the Art Camp, Maestro Ryan Cayabyab for the Music Camp, Teacher Georcelle Dapat-Sy for the Dance Camp, Audie Gemora for the Theatre Camp, and Lisa Macuja-Elizalde for the Ballet Camp.

Renowned psychoneurologist and happiness doctor Lia Bernardo enumerates five easy tips on how women can live a happier, unapologetic life.   You can’t love others if you don’t truly love yourself. This is something we've heard since we were little. But loving one's self doesn’t happen overnight. Renowned psychoneurologist and happiness doctor Lia Bernardo says that self-love is a daily process of accepting yourself completely by living a genuine, unapologetic life. Here are some tips from Dr. Bernardo on how women can love themselves even more: Break the cycle by starting within. All you need to do is face the camera inwards and like who you are. For days w

The highly-anticipated trilogy bout is one of three co-main events at ONE: A NEW ERA . Belingon’s title defense was the last announcement to be made for the card among the Team Lakay World Champions. Although Belingon had been enjoying the beginning of the year, he was doing some light training just in case he got the call to defend his belt in Tokyo. “I started 2019 enjoying the company of my family and friends,” Belingon said. “I wasn’t worried at all that I didn’t have a schedule to defend my title yet. I was in light training just in case. You never know when the call could come, and it was best to be prepared.” Belingon had a gut feeling he would be getting the call soon, so when the news broke, he wasn’t surprised at all.
