PWDs, elderly trained in disaster preparedness and survival.

Persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens in Marikina were enlightened on the proper response to calamities especially earthquakes and flooding during the Emergency Preparedness Forum 2019 held in SM City Marikina.

An initiative of SM Supermalls through SM Cares, the annual event is aimed at supporting communities, especially the most vulnerable groups like the PWDs and the elderly, to become more resilient and better prepared in times of disasters.

DOST undersecretary, PHIVOLCS director and leading seismology expert Dr. Renato Solidum Jr. and Dr. Ted Esguerra (in photo), a member of numerous emergency preparedness and disaster response units around the globe, shared useful tips on disaster preparedness.
