Sika’s 30 Years of Forging Legacy in the Philippines

Sika Philippines recently celebrated its 30th anniversary in the Philippines. The day of commemoration took place with the company’s new Plant and Office Inauguration at Palingon-Tipas, Taguig City in the morning, followed by the annual Customers Night at The Marriott Grand Ballroom, Pasay City.
Close to 200 people attended the day’s events, consisting of Sika’s customers gathered from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao – all instrumental to Sika Philippines’ three-decades successful operations in the country.
National and local government agencies were also in full-support which saw attendance from: Department of Transportation (DOTR) Undersecretary for Railways Jeremy Regino; DOTR Undersecretary for Air Transport Bobby Lim; Department of Public Works and Highway - Bureau of Research and Standards (DPWH-BRS) Director Reynaldo Faustino; and Taguig City Business Permit Licensing Office Head Atty. Maria Theresa Veloso. In addition to that, Swiss Ambassador to the Philippines, Dr. Nicolas Brühl was also present.
For its part, Sika was led by: Philippines General Manager, Christophe Lejeune; Area Manager Southeast Asia, Gaby El Chaar; and President of Asia Pacific, Philippe Jost.
“Sika has been around for 114 years now this year, with presence in 103 countries across the globe. Over the last six years, we have more than doubled our business in Asia/Pacific and made two major acquisitions globally with the recent Parex and MBCC acquisitions respectively. This new Taguig plant gives us great hope that the future is bright for the Philippine construction and infrastructure”, said Philippe Jost.
“We thank Sika for this confidence in helping us to bring back the Philippines to the rail map of Asia and all over the world. We hope that through the solutions and offerings of Sika Philippines, this will spark an upward movement, specifically in the development of railways in the Philippines,” said DOTR Undersecretary Jeremy Regino.
Meanwhile, DOTR Undersecretary Bobby Lim recognized Sika Philippines as “staying true to the event program’s banner of Forging Legacy, supporting the country in infrastructure development. “
Ambassador Dr. Nicolas Brühl added praise of the plant establishment – “confident that this new Sika Taguig plant would serve as beacon of Swiss innovation, showcasing progress and quality.”
To cap the day, the team at Sika celebrated with business partners and various stakeholders at the Marriott Grand Ballroom for a night of socials and entertainment – through its annual tradition of Customers Night.
