MANILA, Philippines – Senatorial candidate Cynthia Villar, wife of former Senate President Manny Villar, shared her thoughts about different individuals in a television interview on Monday.
                  

On the ANC morning show “Headstart” hosted by Karen Davila, Villar was asked to describe a handful of people whose photos were shown on screen, among them President Benigno Aquino III (“not corrupt”) and former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (“hard working”).

She was then asked to talk about controversial television host Willie Revillame, who endorsed her husband when he ran for the 2010 presidential elections.
“No, any endorsement is welcome,” Villar said, when asked if she regrets Revillame’s endorsement of her husband, which is believed to have hurt his candidacy in 2010.
“Yes [he is helping me],” she added.
She also described the host as “very good in his trade,” adding that Revillame and her husband remain business partners.
“Willie owned the land and Manny built the building. They share it. It’s a joint venture,” Villar said, referring to the building named after Revillame near the ABS-CBN compound.
Revillame left ABS-CBN in 2010 despite contract obligations to start another variety show on TV5. His show in the rival network, “Willing Willie,” was changed to “Wil Time Big Time” as it drew complaints after he allegedly maltreated a 12-year-old contestant.
Last month, Revillame announced that he will be moving to the noontime slot with a show titled “Wowowillie,” which now competes with ABS-CBN’s “It’s Showtime” and TAPE’s “Eat Bulaga.”

Meanwhile, Villar said she is impressed with Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, who she described as a person who “can get away with everything.”
Just recently, the feisty senator delivered pickup lines in time for Valentine’s Day.
“Ako talaga bilib diyan. She can get away with everything. Nobody can really do that except her,” Villar said of Santiago.

On Manny Villar was also asked to describe her husband, Manny, in the television interview.
“Hindi naman sa pagbubuhat ng bangko, pero I guess you can never find a kinder and loyal husband than him,” she said as she recalled their rags-to-riches story.
“Okay naman, I’m happy,” she added, when asked how “hard” it is to be Manny Villar’s wife.
Villar shared that she spent Valentine’s Day alone because her husband accompanied their daughter to an MBA school in Barcelona, Spain.
“He had to take a one-day trip to Europe,” she said. “So I just busied myself with my invitations [to different events].”
